After covering the changes to the string type, in this chapter we've started exploring another significant new feature of the compiler in Delphi 2009, the support for generic types. Even if the chapter is quite long, we've just started scratching the surface of what can be considered a new programming paradigm for Delphi developers.
But there is more: anonymous methods, covered in the next chapter, provide yet another paradigm shift, and can be used together with generics as I've already anticipated in this chapter. They have a very useful role in multi-threaded applications and many other cases, as you'll see in the next chapter. Certainly Delphi 2009 is not a dull update for those who are, like me, passionate for programming languages in general and the Object Pascal language in particular.
