In this chapter I've covered one the most significant updates in terms of the component library in Delphi 2009, the new DataSnap architecture for building multi-tier applications without having to resort to COM. You can use DataSnap 2009 for database programming, but also to easily call any server side method.
As this is the last chapter of the book, there is no "What's Next" section, but only a short conclusion about the product. I don't have much to add to the material presented so far, which hopefully helped you learn about all of the new features in Delphi 2009 and appreciate this version of the product.
Delphi 2009 is certainly an outstanding version, with an incredible number of new features that took me 400 pages to cover. With Delphi having a new owner (Embarcadero Technologies) and such a nice release including support for any language (thanks to Unicode), we can truly hope Delphi will still have a long life. Happy (Delphi) coding, wherever you are in the world!
